On October 25, 2006, a Florida residence diagnosed with mesothelioma filed suit in Madison County Circuit Court claiming 63 defendant corporations are responsible for his illness. Some of the defendants include Bondex, CBS, Chrysler, Detroit Diesel, Ford Motor Company, General Electric, General Motors, Goodyear, John Crane, Michigan Limestone, Owens-Illinois, Philips Electronics and Union Carbide.
Walter Idalski was employed from 1944 to 1983 as a welder, maintenance worker, foreman and porter at various locations. Further, his lawsuit states that the defendants should have anticipated the foreseeable dangers of asbestos fibers due to the exposure and inhalation, ingestion and/or absorption of such. Additional, Idalski claims that the defendants knew that the asbestos fibers contained in their products had a toxic, poisonous and highly deleterious effect upon the health of people. His mesothelomia lawyers is seeking compensatory damages in excess of $700,000, plus punitive damages on Idalski’s behalf.
