The family of Leonard Shafer was awarded $2.25 million by a New York City jury . He was first exposed to asbestos in his work place as a civilian employee at the New York naval shipyard and the Brooklyn naval yard during his career in the 1950s.
Mr. Shafer developed pleural mesothelioma from which he suffered pain for almost eighteen months.
