It was claimed that Guilder’s exposure to Honeywell’s asbestos brakes in the 1970s and early 1980s caused his terminal cancer.

The trial took two only weeks and on April 28, 2008, the jury awarded $24,170,000 to Guilder. This is believed to be the largest compensatory jury award in Florida for a victim of asbestos exposure.

Geisler had been a machinist since 1978. In that capacity he worked at various locations in Utah and Illinois.

The wife and two children of Calvin Oxford were awarded in excess of $2 million in total damages by a San Francisco jury because of her late husband’s asbestos-related death. Calvin Oxford worked in the Navy in the 1960s, where he was an attendant in the Navy’s fighter ships and worked on marine boilers and died from Mesothelioma.

Oxford contacted Mesothelioma, the deadly cancer of the lining of the lung, while working on the U.S.S. Klondike. He worked for four years on the marine boilers manufactured by Foster Wheeler. Oxford was exposed to asbestos dust from the insulation, gaskets and packings commonly used to outfit ship boilers.

The rury found Foster Wheeler negligent in supplying asbestos-containing boilers to the Navy. For more information, contact the Mesothelioma Lawsuit Attorneys at Williams Kherkher at 1.800.220.9341.

The lawsuit states that the 49 corporations should have had the forsight to see that their products, which contained asbestos, would be dangerous. He seeks damages for medical bills, physical pain, lost wages, and mental anguish.

George Linkus worked at Key Highway Shipyard in Baltimore, Maryland, from 1952 to 1959. He worked in various departments in the ship yard. In 1954, he started working in the shipyard’s machine shop. As part of his job, he had to work on lining valves using ropes made by John Crane Inc. Key Highway Shipyard is a sealant company.

In 2006, George Linkus was diagnosed with Mesothelioma. He was 73-years-old at the time. The cause of Mesothelioma was traced back to the exposure to asbestos when he was working at the shipyard. The ropes, manufactured by Crane Inc., contained asbestos.

A case was filed by Linkus against Crane in Baltimore Court. After a three-week trial, the jury granted an award of $15.3 million to Linkus. To learn more, contact the Mesothelioma Lawyers at Williams Kherkher at 1.800.220.9341.

Linda O’Donnell was diagnosed with Peritoneal Mesothelioma. This is a cancer of the lining of the abdomen. O’Donnell is a 66-year-old resident of Oregon.

O’Donnell and her husband Reginald filed a case in California Superior court, against against several manufactures and suppliers of dry talcs which were used by O’Donnell. These dry talcs were used as an ingredient for her ceramics business. The cause of the Mesothelioma was traced back to the asbestos in the dry talcs. Ironically, these talcs were mined by various companies in Death Valley, California.

The case was settled on October 10, 2007, before the start of the trial, for a sum of $5.6 million. For more information, contact the Mesothelioma Lawyers at Williams Kherkher at 1.800.220.9341.

A toy maker and various retailers were sued after a California asbestos awareness group stated that one of their toys, the “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” toy kit, contained asbestos. The toy is based off of the popular television show and includes a toy version of a crime scene kit.

The awareness group alleges that tests show large amounts of tremolite asbestos, the most deadly form of asbestos, in the fingerprint powder dust of the toy. The group claims that the manufacturer and several retailers failed to properly warn the public about the hazardous material found in the toy, as required by law.

Although the toy was pulled from shelves, the manufacturer and retailers have not been able to duplicate the awareness group’s findings in studies. Until the matter is settled, the toy remains off of the shelf.

At the age of 16, the man began to work as a mechanic, spending long hours repairing brake pads and clutches. While asbestos was not banned at that point in time, she claims that right up until last year her husband was still being exposed to the dangerous substance despite laws against asbestos.

The woman claims that her husband began to feel out of breath and “full”, or bloated, about a year ago. At the time, her husband was quitting his addiction to cigarettes so the couple ignored the signs, writing them off as a product of the smoking. Sadly, the cigarettes were not the cause of the man’s symptoms and he was diagnosed with mesothelioma shortly after. The doctor who treated the man told the couple that 85% of mesothelioma victims work in the auto industry.

The names of the couple have been omitted as they organize their lawsuit against the man’s former employers.
